Is God calling you to be a catechist?
So, what is a catechist, exactly? The word catechist comes from a Greek word meaning “to echo”. Catechist echo the Word of God to the children of our parish. Catechists come from all walks of life and are all ages. They are ordinary people, just like you, who generously volunteer their time to share our Catholic faith, values, and traditions with our youngest generation of Christians and to walk beside/bear witness to them. They are positive role models who help children grow in faith, spirituality, and their relationship with God. Their gift of time ana talents has tremendous value because through their words, actions, and expression of love for their students, the message of Jesus Christ continues to spread throughout the world. Could you be a catechist?
Do you:
·      Love God and want to know him better?
·      Do you want to instill that love of God in others?
·      Enjoy children and want to be a good role model for them?
·      Want to share our faith and help other grow in their faith?
·      Want to help children develop a relationship with God through Jesus Christ?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, it may mean that God is calling you to be a Catechist!
If you are interested in participating as a catechist or catechist helper, please call the parish office at 209-862-3528 or email: office@stjoachimnewman.org

SACRED HEART: His Reign Has No End.
This new docudrama presents the heart of Jesus as revealed to Saint Margaret Mary 350 years ago in France. The film highlights how the mystery of the Sacred Heart continues to draw people from around the world to experience its love, grace, and transforming power for all humanity.
The timing of this film is especially meaningful, as the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary. In conjunction with this milestone, the U.S. Catholic bishops are set to consecrate the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus this June.
The film has already been very well received internationally and has been described as a blockbuster overseas, with nearly one million viewers in Europe to date. Scan the QR code for show times.
